The community of Sia is undoubtedly one of the developing communities of the island. All the developmental projects of the community, namely the demarcation of land, the expansion of road and irrigation networks contributed to this general development. A growing rate as far as housing is concerned has been noted over the recent years.

A growing construction flow has been noted in Sia, and that is mostly owed to its location. Sia is in the centre of three districts; the districts of Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca. The community of Sia stands at a distance of thirty kilometers from Nicosia, almost forty five from Limassol and twenty five from Larnaca. What is more, the community is connected to the Nicosia-Limassol highway. These reasons help local people to remain in Sia and other young people to move to Sia.

The natural surroundings added to this development, because the clean air in combination with the green land attract people and motivate them to build their permanent house or their country house there.

It must be noted that the contribution of the community in this residential development was of vital importance. The community, as aforementioned, has demarcated land and has thus helped poor families. Land donation was based on income. Almost thirty five pieces of land have been given out and other fifteen follow.

The new residential zones in Sia are located on the southeast of the village centre, in the areas of Kouta, Anefani, Athkiakovryssi, Syloounia and Anaoli.

Today’s progress is only the beginning of a continuously growing rate. The community wishes to prolong this growth and will continue trying to accomplish it.
